Yosemite was dried up for the season. Most of the waterfalls were nonexistant, and mirror lake was a sand pit. I recommend going in the spring or early summer. Nonetheless, the granite in Yosemite still possessed its own, stark beauty. |

We drove through the clogged streets of Las Angeles to visit Matt's friend Joanna. She live with her roommate Zina on Hermosa beach, which has a pier that extends at least a hundred yards over the water. |

We picked my newly legal sister Andrea up on Friday and spent the days touring gaudy Hollywood and rich Malibu, and the nights celebrating her 21st birthday. |
