  Luna Sea is the band from Kanagawa, Japan. In early era, their music
was dark and depress with mystical meoldies. Line up are Ryuichi(vocals), Inoran(guitars), Sugizo(guitars, fretless guitars and violins), J(bass) and Shinya(drums). Luna Sea was formed by J and Inoran when
they was in highscool. In early 1989, Sugizo and Shinya ( both ex-Pinocchio)
joined. And last member, Ryuichi (ex- Slaughter), joined in
June 1989 as vocalist. Luna Sea was formerly know as Lunacy
but they changed their name to Luna Sea in November 1990. In
indies day, they often performed live concert in live house to prove
that they are live band, not like the others that gave their intention
to their "performance" more than "musical skills".
That's why they are very popular even they are just an indies band.
Then the chance has come. Hide (X-Japan) found them and fianlly they signed with
Extacy Record (Yoshiki 's label). In 1991, they have realased first indies
album with self-title, Luna Sea. In September 1991, they signed
with MCA Victor and release major debute album, Image. From then till
now, they has been stay on top ranking of japanese rock bands.

Luna Sea is the first real Visual rock band that I've know.
I was introduced to this band by my friend, Wijit or W.J.. I don't
know how to explained the feeling when I first seen their VDO clips.
It's too wierd for me!! All members look like girls and their music
is .. .^^; First eyes catcher : Sugizo's legs. NO!! I'm not kidding. He has very
beautiful legs that I ever seen!But he has one daughter, too. <^^>

Rosier. This song made me thought that "yeah!! maybe this band
is interesting" Finally I became their slave.
About
their music : I think that they have blended their influence from
Japan(British rock band-Sugizo favorite), Alanist Morrisette(Inoran
favorite), American Rock and Punk(J favorite), Pop(of couse, for Ryuichi)
and err...Classical Japanese drumming (Shinya was born in family which
is play the music for japanese theater or Noh) then mixed up and came
out like what you have heard ^v^ I love their song in their early
albums ( Image, Eden and Mother) But after that they have changed
to more pop and more bright atmosphere. So I stop then. I'm free!!!
