 Hide
or Hideto Matsumoto is the one of leading guitarists from japan. He
has released some works with the band named Saber Tiger
(i 've heard that this band is very famous for its twin lead guitar
-Luna) before join X (or
later X-Japan). In mid 90's, he start his solo works
and release the first one, "Hide your phycommunity".
In this album he has two great guest musicians, Terry Bozio(drums)
and T.M. Steven(bass).He continoue his work with X-Japan
and his solo project together. And release many solo singles and albums.
But
he passed away in 1998 by commited suicide.

For
me, Hide is the one of the leading guitarist from Japan. ( My ranking
is Akira Takasaki (Loudness), Shinichiro Ichihara(SLY),
then Hide). At first time I've listened to X, that's the very excited.
His guitar playing is very great!!! He playing fast and sometimes
synchronized with Pata. Check out his work fretwork in X-Japan song
"Kurenai", the solo part is very cool. I think that his
background is very good because my japanese friend told me that his
old band, "Saber Tiger", was very famous for twin
lead guitarists.His works with X-Japan are somethings related
with classic ( Rose of Pain
and Art of Life are the
best sample, but they 're too long to put online. Seek it yourself
- Luna) His first solo album is rock and somethings
so-called err... industrial. And after, all his works are headed to
pure industrial!! Check this sample out!!
The
first time I've seen Hide,he's......^^;. He looked really weird!!
with long redish hair, playing, runing madly on the stage!!He acted
like psychotic person. But you know? He's very nice and kind person!!
And I've wrote this in newspaper too. Senior journalist can't believed
that he would be this sort of person!! When he passed away I never
cried for him. Many fans asked me why. I've tell them that "
Hide, for me, is guitarist not a god or somthing like that. I'm very
sad because he should be alive and create tons of works instead of
suicide without a reason!! ( I mean the his reasons not any that you
though!!)" I know many fans adore him as GOD. But you know, if
you old enough, what this behaviour of the fans mean! This can imply
to social problem. In these days, many family broke up. Mnay children
became problem children because they have on one to rely on. So they
search for anyone who they can rely on and they choose Hide!! I think
that's because Hide act and do everythings that they wanna do but
can't do. Then Hide became their hero, that's all!! Sorry to Hide
fans for my silly and furious opinion. Don't think too much. It's
just my opinion!! ^v^
