About L.D:
L.D. College of Engineering is reputed as one of the better technical schools in India and
the best in the state of Gujarat. Founded in 1948 and affiliated to the Gujarat university
it turns out more than 450 fine engineers every year. It has a reputation for producing
top notch engineers. Its strike rate in terms of students pursuing studies after
completion of their Bachelor's degrees is quite envious. Every year about 50 of them
make to the shores of U.S.A while about the same number go in for higher education in
India in either the IIT's or the IIM's and other Management Institutes of repute. The
campus of the college is just adjacent to the University area. It boasts of famous
neighbors such as Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), Gujarat University,
Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (ATIRA), Center for Environmental
Planning Technology (CEPT), Physical Research laboratory, etc.

GUJARAT UNIVERSITY which
is among the top grade universities in India.
As per the rules of Gujarat University, the undergraduate curriculum for B. E. degree
program is divided in 8 semesters. The first two semesters are combined and treated as
yearly pattern where Gujarat University holds one examination at the end of two semesters
and college holds three sessional and one block examination. After the first year,
the University Exams are taken every six months.

Various activities:
L.D. College of Engineering is a home of different cultural
activities. Every year students are arranging the talent evening as well as the Garba
festival & all the students enjoy each event as a whole. It has different sports
events also. Along with them there are debate as well as research paper competitions which
are state level competitions. But every time L.D.Students have a crown on their heads. As
in L.D, all types of facilities are provided to encourage the students to think on their
own way.
In addition to the academic activities, the faculty of the Environmental Engg. is engaged
in analytical water, waste water, soil, cement, sludge, and many other chemicals. In
addition, the Environmental Engg. division has been recognized as external environmental
auditors by Honorable High Court of Gujarat, which is a matter of pride and prestige for
the Institute.
In the Mechanical Engg. calibration of various instruments like pressure gauge, vacuum
gauge, thermometer, vernier calipers, flow meters, anemometers and volumeters.
In the Electronics and Communication department of L.D.
College of Engg. has received latest equipments, computers and software under the project
of "IMPACT" and hence is capable of providing technical services by way of
testing, consultancy, renting of equipments to industry, conduction of technical courses
in the field of computer and electronics.
Admission procedure:
L.D. College of engineering is one of the premier engineering institutes of India. This
is not only because of the flawless curriculum, but also due to the immaculate history it
enjoys of giving to the world, students of varied abilities and personalities. ires that
its students be competent enough to use these facilities to the fullest. This explains the
reasons for the stringent admission procedures, which the college follows.
The students are required to give the H.S.C Examinations held by Gujarat Higher Secondary
Education Board (C.B.S.E. for central board students) or any equivalent examinations ( 10
+ 2 system). The students are evaluated only on the basis of their score in these
examinations. No other criterion is used for the admissions. There are certain
reservations in the seats, for females, underprivileged classes, minorities of the nation
etc. The college is bound to follow these reservations, strictly as decided by the
Government of Gujarat state. The day is not far away when application forms will be
available electronically.

The College
Library :
L.D.C.E. has many
libraries to cater to the scholastic needs of its students. The main library, accessible
to students of all faculties, has a huge collection of texts and reference books. This
library subscribes to a large number of current periodicals read worldwide and also
maintains the back issues for future reference.
A large reading room is
available for the students to study in a convenient environment. This room has witnessed
the effort of thousands of students to take up any challenge they come across. It is the
room which has given India the excellent technocrats.
The University Library :
A university
library upheld by the Gujarat University is available to the students. An enormous
collection of volumes is made accessible to the students through this library making
another point for Gujarat University to stand among the top ranking Universities in India.
