| �I need you to cover me for a second Blk!� �Alrightaru!� Cyanna stood tall and placed her hands in a triangular formation a few inches from her chest. The incantation for this summon was long and she couldn�t be interrupted while casting. Blk turned his attention to the goblin Thug. The Thugs eyes glared at Blk and turned to his white mage brother still mute. Cyanna�s incantation was almost finished. �The force of Light that penetrates the darkness! I summon you forth. Carbuncle!� A blue mist began to rise and hover around Cyanna. The mist grew darker as Carbuncle took form and with a small burst of light dissipated leaving Carbuncle standing in front of Cyanna. Cyanna motioned to attack and Carbuncle raced towards the goblin White Mage defeating him with one swift Poison Nails attack. Blk watched Cyanna in amazement and for a minute forgot about the battle he was in. The goblin Thug withdrew a few steps and let out a large cry. �You killed my little brother!� The Goblin�s body began to glow red then distorted. Blkmgflare blinked not believing his own eyes. He now saw two gobs�four gobs�six gobs�the numbers kept increasing. �You shall die here you can�t kill all of us! No one survives my Doppelganger technique!� Blk and Cyanna realized they were in over there heads. As the goblins commenced their attack the sounds of battle pierced the air. Staffs striking goblin armor and flesh. Goblin grunts and cries. Battle wounds being cured with healing light. Blk began casting Thundaga followed by Blizzaga, but no matter what spell he casted the goblin swarm kept growing and growing. Running severely low on magic energy. Blk and Cyanna huddled together as they tried to catch their breaths to be ready for the next attack. Not knowing what else to do they began to retreat backwards towards the seals. A goblin began casting an Aero spell his aim evidently on Cyanna. Blk quickly casted stoneskin with his last remaining magic energy and fixed himself between Cyanna and the gob�s line of sight. Blk�s stoneskin nullified the aero attack but the wind blast knocked Blk in to Cyanna causing her to stumble. As Cyanna struggled to regain her balance the mana orb she was carrying dropped on the floor and rolled towards the black magic seal. Cyanna bolted for the orb only having to stop as she swirled around on top of the white mage seal to protect herself from a gob attack. �The orb I see it!� shouted Blk. All the gobs turned to Blk and ran to cut him off. Blk raced towards the black magic seal as the mana orb lay directly on its center as if it belonged there. The gobs were closing in on Blk, but Blk made it to the seal. As he quickly picked up the orb and swirled around to face his enemies the seal began to resonate along with the mana orb and the Dark Staff. Cyanna�s position on the white magic seal began to resonate as well. Blk and Cyanna collapsed to the ground overwhelmed by the surging magical energy emitting from the seals. They could only watch as the goblins around them were defeated by the resonating seals. There was a flash of light that blinded the two and then there was darkness�.impenetrable darkness. Crystal Palace �Blkmgflare�Blkmgflare�Please wake up�There is not much time�� Blkmgflare�s body twitched slightly as he felt strength return to his body after being pinned down by the magic at the seals. Blkmgflare slowly opened his eyes. His vision was at first hazy and after a few seconds things came into focus. He was in a large room its architecture completely foreign to him. The ceiling looked like it went up forever and the floor beneath him appeared to be a marble surface. Struggling to move his body Blkmgflare turned in the direction of the soft voice he heard and scanned the room for Cyanna. �The Hume girl is fine�I shall bring her to you.� There was a low grumble and Blkmgflare sprung to his feet only to fall down to his knees. His body had not yet fully recovered, but he watched as a few feet in front of him a magic seal was magically being carved into the floor. The grumbling stopped and the seal flashed to life pulsating a soft white light. There was a huge power building on the seal. Blkmgflare could feel it. In an instant Cyanna�s body appeared face up on the seal. �Cyanna! Cyanna!� Blkmgflare shouted as he ran to her. Cyanna moved slightly her eyes slowly opened. Good Blkmgflare thought. She is ok. Blkmgflare stood up and Cyanna a few moments later joined him. �Where are we?� Cyanna asked. �I�m not sure�but this is definitely not the ruins anymore.� �This is the Crystal Palace�Please hurry�There is much I must tell�� The soft voice spoke again. A path of lights suddenly appeared on the floor in front of the seal. Following the path Blkmgflare and Cyanna reached a small room of which the small lights could not illuminate the darkness within. The floor lights began to fade and Blkmgflare and Cyanna gazed up to see seven giant crystals descending upon them. In the back of the room the largest crystal descended to a huge pedestal while the others hovered above. The room began to glow as the large crystal emitted a pale blue light making its interior transparent. Blkmgflare and Cyanna�s eyes stared in amazement at what the crystal revealed to them. Inside appeared to be a small tarutaru girl floating in the crystal her eyes closed. The girl�s eyes opened and she began to speak her gaze a constant stare in front of her. �I am the Keeper of the Crystals�The orb in your possession Blkmgflare holds a great secret. It is a memory�A fragment from the time our world was almost destroyed by the force of darkness. Blkmgflare the Dark Staff summoned me to your aid. We the Crystal Keepers must protect the Crystal Warriors with our lives�For if anything were to happen to you all of Vana�diel would be lost�Young tarutaru�Young Hume�you have been chosen by the crystals. The darkness is growing ever near. You two must go out and seek the remaining Crystal Warriors. Only then can Vana�diel find peace. Please take these with you.� Two palm-sized crystals materialized in front of Blkmgflare and Cyanna. For Blkmgflare a dark crystal and for Cyanna a light crystal. The two uttered a quick gasp and looked to notice the crystals were gone. Around their necks was now a small necklace with a charm shaped like the crystal they received. �Your bodies have absorbed the crystals�they have entrusted you with their power�Now head for Jeuno. Your destiny awaits. I shall be watching you�Crystal Warriors� |
