Welcome to the online home of the Lake Charles Community Band. The early history of community bands in Lake Charles has many possible variations and creates interesting debates amoung musicians and historians alike, but we know that our humble "community band" beginnings can be traced back to bands like the Eureka Brass Band of 1900. More recently the current band started in February 1988 and was incorporated in 1989 according to former band director and noted music historian, Dr. Norman Smith.
As you tour this site you will find photos for our most recent concerts, performance dates, member lists and emails, organizational history, links to groups with similar interests, and information about joining the band.
Members of the Band have performed numerous concerts around the Lake Area. LCCBand's new home in the Old Central School Arts and Humanties Center has brought life back into the organization as well as the historic district of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The internet now brings the world to the Band's concerts.
