Election of Officers
The following officers were elected for the 2002-03 term all of them unanimously:

Election of secretary was tabled to the September Board meeting, in view of Jim Walters' absence and for further discussion of the possible creation of two separate Secretary (one of them recording) positions.
Committee Business
The following committee chairs were elected for the 2002-03 term:

Election of Communications/Advertising chair was tabled to the September Board meeting for further discussion and Jim Walters' presence.
Projects & fundraising: Chairmen and board representatives Buzz Minnich and Richard Ulibarri.
-- Pet Fair: Buzz Minnich reported at leength on the status of preparations for the Aug. 10 Pet Fair: There has been a 25% return rate on donation solicitations; 14 baskets have been prepared and many donations have been received; final plans are being made; things are generally coming together well.
-- Raking party: The next monthly park ccleanup will take place Aug. 3.Nominations and elections: Chairman and board representative Pablo Drobny.

-- Dog beach: Jim Knutson reported he iss pressing ahead with assisting the city with its proposed pilot project for a dog beach, as voted by the board at the last meeting. Questions have been raised concerning our association's power to participate in this project, in view of the limitations in our existing Bylaws. The city will be requested to assist us in solving any such problems.
-- Fencing: Messrs. Knutson and Nicas reeported on repairs to be made on the fences and gates.Membership: Chairwoman and board representative Carolyn Reed.
-- Logo contest: Carolyn Reed said that our new logo, created by winners of the logo contest, will be unveiled shortly after minor adjustments are made.
-- Membership drive: The membership is uup to 87 in just the first full month of renewals. The membership year ended June 30.Communications & advertising:

Next quarterly members meeting will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Bruins Den.
