THE LONG BEACH RECREATION DOG PARK ASSN.
BOOK SIGNING

March 20, 2002

Ever wonder about that festive fire hydrant at the east end of the park? It was put there as a memorial to Ruach, author Scott Ringwelski's beloved husky, a Dog Park charter member.

Scott's current dog, Colonel Taz, who visits the park, has thousands of weekly readers all over the world via the Internet who have enjoyed this snow dog's antics in and around Long Beach. Scott has cobbled 78 of those short stories into "Dogged ... and Determined," a compendium of dog rescue and relationships.

Scott will be on hand the morning of Saturday, April 6, to read a few of the short stories right after our regular monthly park cleanup concludes, about 9 a.m. He'll be joined by the title hero, Taz.

Again, the particulars:

When: Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon -- (our monthly park cleanup is that day at 7:30 a.m.)

Where: At the Dog Park. Click here for directions.

What: Scott will read from and sign copies of his book, "Dogged and Determined," which sell for $18.95, and tapes, which sell for $10. He will donate 25 percent of the day's proceeds to the association for park improvements.
