I Watched An Angel Sleep

I watched an angel sleep last night,
I watched him as he dreamed.
I saw a tear roll down his cheek,
And in his sleep he screamed.

I knelt beside his bed,
Wondering if he felt me there.
Tormented, he tossed and turned.
Was there no end to his nightmare?

How I wanted to kiss his tears away
And calm his raging soul.
Angel, let me save you.
You cant do it on your own.

Youve fallen from your perch,
From high atop a granite wall.
Lord knows that you are strong,
But even the strongest of angels fall.
