I was in Vitoria and Vila Velha, Brazil from Sept. 18 to 24, 1999. I'd been asked to speak about some aspects of modernization of justice in Ontario at the annual conference of the International Association of Judges. It was very cool and my speech, made with a colleague from courts adminstration in the provincial government went well. Yay for us!
Because I didn't even know where Vitoria was before I went there. Here's a little map so y'all can get your bearings. It's just north of Rio de Janeiro and south of Salvador on the Atlantic Ocean.

Here are some pictures from the event. There's quite a few pictures on each page so they make take a couple of minutes to load. These are by no means the full selection. I've just loaded a couple to get a taste of the week.
The official engagements . . . but the fun parts of 'em!
The touristy stuff.
