Saturday 6 August Arrived at Phillip Ponds Homestead Just on Sunset
Phillip Ponds Homestead Viewed through the front doorway of the ruins of Phillip Ponds Homestead, the setting sun sinks below the horizon in the north western, winter sky.

Phillip Ponds Homestead is about three km north of Woomera on the road to Roxby Downs.

Wednesday 3 August Southern Flinders Ranges on the Way Home fron Roxby Downs
Lesley sugested a different rout on the way back in order to see some different country. We sure saw different country, finding ourselves traveling the extremities of the Southern Flinders Ranges. It must be impressive country when you get right into the ranges.

Trucks, trucks and more trucks. B-doubles, road trains and semi-trailers as well as the smaller trucks. More trucks than you could wave a stick at. Trucks outnumbered cars on the outback and rural highways.

Thursday 28 July Darkroom Session Nets Lake Torrens Print
Vermine proof fence For the first time in quite a while I had a session in the darkroom yesterday.

The print displayed is from Andamooka Station where the fence crosses an arm of Lake Torrens.

Having been dropped off with the ATV, trailer, camping gear and photographic equipment at Chimney Hole Dam, I followed a good 4x4 track for about four km, then followed this netting fence for a further 17 km till I reached the arm of the lake which blocked my path.

The sun had set and by the time I'd had a quick look around, it was nearly dark, leaving me to put up my camp and get a feed by the lights of the ATV.

The vermin proof fence is of the same style as the famous Dog Fence which stretches for about 12  000 km across Australia from Ceduna on the Great Australian Bite in South Australia to Surfers Paradice on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

More images of the fence, the ATV and the landscape around Lake Torrens can be seen on my other site.
