Welcome to our classroom! We are second graders in Mrs. DiSciascio's class at Atlantis Elementary School in Port St. John, Florida. We were together last year as first graders, and will be together again this year as second graders.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning! We will be working in our individual reading books, working hard at literacy stations, learning from our new science and social studies curriculums and working in small groups in math and working at math stations during our rotation. We'll also be going to gym two days per week, and to art and music. For two semesters we'll be going to computer and the other two semesters we'll be going to library.
We'll be participating in a postcard exchange, and from this we'll be learning about all the states in our nation. If you're near our classroom, make sure to stop by and see our map. We'll be hanging up all the postcards we get.
We'll be participating in a traveling buddy project. Our classroom buddy, Hugh Manatee, will be traveling to other states, and we will be hosting a buddy from those states.
We'll also be participating in several online projects that can be found at the TechnoSpud web site. Our first one will be using Oreo cookies! These projects are sure to be a great time.
