Yui is an attractive, confident, bright young girl. She appears older than her age, and acts quite grown-up at times, for a 15 year old... She's been Miaka's best friend since childhood. But although Yui is a smart girl, she is easily swayed by Nakago, the first seishi of Seiryuu. She is a victim in the Universe of the Four Gods and cannot seem to see the truth when Miaka tries to tell her. Yui has a deep crush on Tamahome and made plots on taking him away from Miaka. Yui is the priestess of Seiryuu and is sent to the Universe of the Four Gods after Miaka finds a way to get back to her world. Suboshi, twin brother of Amiboshi, falls in love with Yui, and goes out of his way to be her bodyguard.
