    Beyonce Typographic Portrait
The font that I chose for my typographical portrait of Beyoncé, is called Steelfish. The font is inspired by the original font called Knockout that was used for Beyoncé’s self-titled album that was released in 2014. I wasn’t successful at obtaining the Knockout font but the Steelfish don’t is a simple, minimalist, sans serif font that’s kerned quite closely together. This font is used by Beyoncé to make a statement, and her overall brand, which is paired with a contrast of two different hues that complement each other on designs. The lyrics in this portrait is Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls)”, promotes feminism and women empowerment, which is the intended message in the typographical portrait.. The words reflects Beyoncé’s personality because she supports women empowerment, the feminist movement, and celebrate women as individuals. The song lyrics encompasses that message and is displayed across her portrait. I think the use of text in bold, capital, font, to promote a positive, strong, confident, self-empowerment, and fierce mood.

    Amethyst Resort Spa Magazine Ad
As I started to design this magazine ad, I wanted to create something youthful and engaging, setting the goal and expectation to gain attention from an audience of young adults who’s embarking on traveling as it is now perceived as trendy. Traveling is the new goal and especially traveling abroad. In designing the ad, I was thinking of group travelers who enjoy sharing their experiences on social media platforms. My thoughts with this kind of audience, the resort could see an increase of sales by marketing to group travelers.
