Benjamin David Gillies was the dynamic drummer
Who dreamed of sunny days in sweet New Castle summers,
Where he could surf the Australian shores,
Silencing the oceans ferocious roars.
The shortest member of this Oz-land trio,
Whose brown locks flowed longer than the Grande River Rio,
Loved some of the worlds most favorite delicacies:
Pizza, and Oreos, along with nachos bathed in cheese.
A charismatic musician filled with jubilation,
This lifelong member of the Surf Riders Foundation,
Put young teeny feet into motion
Drumming proudly on Music for Our Mother Ocean
When he played shows, he was eager to find
Devoted teenage fans with words so kind
Of how they loved Gillies more than anything.
More than pounds of gold, or a diamond studded ring.
He looked up to John Bonham more than anyone,
And felt that John had been the greatest drummer under the sun.
Ben had a sweet tooth for Canadian girls
And elegant young ladies with beautiful curls
And intelligent women but one thing comes to mind.
He loved females of each and every kind.
But enough of Ben, and all of this.
It is time to move on to my good friend Chris
Chris Joannou was the quiet one
Who liked to walk in the Australian sun.
He played bass for this fine group.
His best dish was a three minute noodle soup.
He loved to work on old beat up cars.
Loved to sneak into American bars.
Hes the youngest one, the little baby,
But still had a face that drove the girls crazy.
He was not a womanizer like another,
Like his good ole buddy Ben, his silvercahir brother.
For he was the only band member who had
The same girlfriend since highschool grad.
He loved to listen to KoRn and Primus.
He revered Led Zeppelin like the rest of us.
Wore Billabong shirts and Airwalks too.
Had gorgeous eyes with a brownish hue.
He was the first to cut his long hair,
But the rest would soon follow so I didnt care.
But Ive said enough about this man
Last but not least, I have to mention Dan.
Daniel Johns was the one who sang lead vocals.
At a young age he had it in with all the locals.
Hed be a Black Sabbath fan until his dying day.
His love for Deep Purple would never go away.
And like the others, Page and Plant were a fav
Zeppelin four would be a record that he would always save.
His teeth were perfectly straight and pearly white.
On his face you could never see a blemish in sight.
His yellow rocker hair gave him a Kurt Cobain vibe,
Even if hadnt washed it since 1995!
