| But let me drift a little and take different route, For there is another aspect of Danny I must speak about. Danny Boy played guitar in the band, Caressed DAddario strings with a talented hand. He wrote most of Neon Ballroom on his own, While sitting in his house all alone. He went through a time of much depression, But secret was this time of hidden confession To all but to his friends and family, Who saw Daniel struggling to get back there to be The old Johnsy with the fervent soul, Because this Johnsy had no control. Too much had been going on for way too long. The outside forces seemed so strong. He could not find a way to get his life in order. He made a decision that crossed the ultimate border. If there was one thing Johnsy could control Was the things that he could put into his soul. So he stopped eating all together To see if this would help or whether It would make him weaker still, Finding no solace and no will To keep on going like he should, Because so much of him was so good. During this time of deep turmoil While he tilled and nurtured his tortured soil, Danny wrote many songs to express All that he could not confess To all of his fans and to the world. How would he tell them about his Ana girl? But somehow through the help of others His family and friends, and his silverchair brothers, Daniel got his life on track He was able to get control back. And the many songs that he wrote, Songs that had seized up tightly in his throat Helped so many kids who happened to be In the same position, the same as he. And who could help but to cry, Drying salty tears from a watery eye When Daniel sang his songs of sorrow Of days gone by and days of morrow. When he could have no freedom, see To be as he should truly be Free from all the chains that bind Sheltered from all things quite unkind. But my how things had changed! All of that seemed so strange, For things got better for our Danny boy For he found solace in a joy Knowing that he had helped those like him: Patricia, Alexis, and even Jim. And now that you have met silverchair And know more things than you probably care To know about them stand by and listen Ive got more to tell that you shouldnt be missin Theres much to know about the silverchair logic But Ill think Ill wait for the next English project. So wait to hear about and to see How great the next chair show will truly be. |
