Deftones02

Whenever he would even begin to say something negative about them, I would just say, �well chino likes them,� and he would cease his insults. He knew he couldn�t say anything about Chino, even if it was just his taste in music. I started listening to Deftones lots. I remember in the summer of �99 I let Amy borrow one of my Depeche Mode CDs, and she let me borrow her copy of Adrenaline. Why did Amy have Adrenaline? Well she had heard a buzz about Deftones and wanted to check them out. The buzz was mainly surround Around the Fur though and that was the album she meant to get. She bought Adrenaline by mistake. Oh well.

Anyway, when I first heard Adrenaline, I didn�t care for it much at first. But eventually it grew on me and I love it now. I of course eventually got my own copy because Amy wasn�t going to give it to me, like she had given me silvechair�s frogstomp.
I saw Deftones for the first time at Ozzfest 1999. I was so excited to see them because by this time I was just a huge fan of theirs. Of course our seats were way back in the amphitheatre, but it was still aweseom hearing Deftones play. Deftones went on third to last. I was surprised that so many people liked them. I remember a flag with a white pony on it, hanging up on stage and I wondered what that was all about. I also remember being one of the few people in seats standing up. I was so excited to hear all my favorites from Around the Fur. Dai the flu sounded the best though. And even though I was so far away, it was still so incredible!
By my senior year of high school I was a Deftones fanatic. In the summer of 2000, I met this really awesome guy named Bert. He liked a lot of the same bands that I did and one of those bands happened to be Deftones. I couldn�t have met up with a better person. Because Bert worked at Best Buy he often got CDs and tickets for free. Deftones much anticipated new album, White Pony, was coming out on June 20th. I didn�t know when I would get a chance to buy it since there are no music stores near my house and when I do want a CD I have to get my dad to take me to the Best Buy and Media Play in Morrow. But I didn�t have to worry about that.
