Adoption Procedures

All of our fostered animals are fully veterinarian checked, have all their shots and tests, are feline leukemia negative, de-wormed, given flea protection and are spayed/neutered before adoption.

1. An adoption application must be filled out for the particular cat, kitten or dog at the location where the animal is shown.

2. A call is then placed to the foster parent of the animal when the adoptor may discuss any questions they have about the animal.

3. Once the application is approved (usually 1 or 2 days), the animal is delivered to the adoptor's home where an adoption agreement is signed, the adoption fee is collected; $40 for a cat/kitten and $60 for a dog; and the adoption is then complete.

Please note: If for any reason the adoptor is not fully satisfied with the adoption for any length of time, Last Hope takes full responsibility for the return of the animal back into the Last Hope program.

Adoptions limited to Nassau and Suffolk Counties ONLY.
