LaSalle High School  "Class of 1980"
Reunion July 1-3, 2005
Kelly,

I read all the new information on the site and your message to everybody.
I especially liked the quote "Life is not about the amount of breaths we take but the moments that take our breath away". You're definitely right about that one. I just wish I had more moments like that.

It was also true how the cliques from high school has disappeared and every body was basically on the same level. One memory that struck me was when you said that people in school who never spoke to each other were now  talking, dancing and partying together, how true! Thats exactly what happened to me, a girl I never got along with in school approached me and we talked for a while. She even dragged me up on the dance floor for a slow dance, surprised the heck out of me.

Thanks

You know Kelly,

The first night for me, I was very nervous and excited. But the thing that really meant a lot to me was, to show my husband where I went to school. He grew up in a small town near Fergus, Ontario. With his graduating class of 13, yes I said 13. So it would be so neat to show him my huge school.

The thing that really disappointed me was that the front doors of the school looked like a jail. Steel doors, but once you stepped inside it was like old times. The color was the same. The same plastic chairs. The one word that I kept saying was, bizarre. I kept saying it over and over. It drove my husband crazy. I was so excited to finally be able to drive into the parking lot. I didnt ge t my drivers license until I was 23.

At the registration desk was Tammy Coleman Black. I knew her right off the top. I wanted to get there early so I could see everyone come in. Many I recognized, some it took a while. Many knew me, which was a blessing. (smile)

The band was fabulous!  Thanks Andy and crew! And for the record, he is still as cute as he was in high school * wink*. I had the pleasure of meeting his wife, and she is very nice.

I was standing in the cafeteria talking to someone and then all of a sudden, Brian Henry turns and says, Lori-Dawn Robinson! I know that voice!, Gee, I didnt think I had such a big mouth in high school? Lol, but I remembered Brian Henry.

Saturday night was so beautiful. Kelly Stevens looked like she was 18. *wink*.  Everyone looked great. The music was awesome. We even did the hustle. Wow, it took a bit but we finally caught on to the steps again. The meal was great, and we got to mingle on ce again.

I wasnt going to the Sunday picnic, so it was time to say goodbye to everyone. It started out ok, then all of a sudden, I lost it. I have become an emotional person over the years, and so the tears began to flow. I am not a drinker so it wasnt the boozelol, but I went to everyone I knew to say, thanks for coming and sharing this great experience with me. I cried like a baby. It was like I was losing my friends.

People came from East to West, and from the USA. I appreciate all their efforts and sacrifices in coming. I met teachers to tell them how much they made an impact on my life. I was so thrilled to see Mr. Torjenson. He still looks the same. What a great principal he was. (I can say that, because I was never in his office) lol

But this experience was so awesome, and I will never forget it. I thank each committee member and everyone who helped put this reunion together. It was a lot of work.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for letting me know, that I just wasnt just a person. That I meant something to you. For this, has changed my life.

Just like Kelly said,  Life is not about the breaths we take, but the moments that take your breath away. How true!  So, if I were to die tomorrow, at least I had made an impact on at least one of you.
Thanks for being there for me, as I hope I am there for you.
