The Isle of Cumbrae is located just across the water from
Largs and can be reached in a 10 minute ferry crossing operated
by Caledonian MacBrayne.
The main town on the island is Millport, situated approximately
3 miles from the ferry slipway. A bus meets every ferry and
provides transportation into the town.
Millport is a lively little town with two museums, many shops,
cafes, pubs and restaurants. It also boats the UK's smallest
cathedral, seating just over 100 people.
The island itself is a nature lover's paradise with many
scenic walks and abundant wildlife including a seal colony.
Cumbrae is popular with cyclists and bike hire is readily
available on the island.

Bute has many attractions for visitors, including Rothesay
Castle with its unique circular design, Mount Stuart House
with its gothic architecture and Bute Museum with information
on local history, geology and wildlife.
There are many gardens open to visitors on the Island including
the Winter Garden in Rothesay, Ascog Fernery and Ardencraig
Gardens. Mount Stuart House also has extensive gardens.
The ferry to the Isle of Bute sails from Wemyss Bay, situated
approximately 5 miles north of Largs. Ferries are around every
45 minutes during peak periods and the crossing takes 30 minutes.
Timetables and fares are available for Caledonian
MacBrayne. Bute can also be accessed from the north via
a short ferry crossing from Colintraive.

Frequently described at Scotland in Minature, Arran is 20
miles long with a 56 mile circumference. The main town on
the island is Brodick, which features many tourist attractions
including Brodick Castle with extensive gardens and woodlands,
as well as the Arran Heritage Museum, Isle of Arran Brewery,
Arran Aromatics bath and body products and the Isle of Arran
Cheese Co.
Further afield, the island features many interesting walks
and cycling paths. The Isle of Arran Distillery located in
Lochranza and the Machrie Moor Standing Stones are well worth
a visit.
The main ferry route to Arran sails from Ardrossan to Brodick
around 4 times a day in summer months. The crossing takes

Largs and can be reached by bus or train.

Located approximately 2 miles from the centre of Largs, Kelburn
Country Centre is one of the area's leading visitor attractions
with many historical features and places of natural beauty.
Within its large grounds, a visitor can take in formal gardens,
woodland walks, waterfalls, ponds, ancient trees and historic
sundials. There are also special areas with organised activities
for children, including The Secret Forest. The Centre also
features its own pottery workshop and riding school. Kelburn
Castle, dating from the 13th Century, is located within the
grounds, and is the ancient home of Lord and Lady Glasgow.
The castle is open for guided tours at certain times.
The main Centre building offers a café, shop and information
