Largs Online - A Visitor's Guide to Largs Ayrshire

Largs is situated on the Firth of Clyde in the South West of Scotland, with stunning views of the Isle of Cumbrae.

Largs entered the history books in 1263 when Viking invaders were overthrown by the Scots in the Battle of Largs - an event commemorated in the Viking Festival which takes place every September in the town. In more modern times, Largs became a favourite holiday destination for visitors from Glasgow and beyond, who enjoyed a trip "doon the watter" every summer.

Today, Largs continues to be a thriving holiday destination for tourists from near and far. This site hopes to provide an introduction to the town to visitors, and to remind those who haven't been "doon the watter" for some time just what they are missing!
