Where am I?

Lanky Land. Stan's own brand of music promotion. Hello all you music maniacs, I'm Stan, welcoming you to my completely free music site. Developed by a fellow artist, it's created to help you all in your promotional duties. Because everyone knows that all promotion is good promotion. Especially ones that are free.

What's it about?

It's pretty simple. You, the artist, join the Lanky Ranks by clicking the ranks button up top. A new page will open which will reveal a website ranking system. From there, you can find all the details on how to get on the system.

The ranking system is pretty simple to understand. As you accumulate more hits, both in and out, you rise towards the top. This resets every seven days.

Hmm, what's this top 5 thing all about?

Well, that's sorta where things get interesting. Every week, the top 5 ranked artists will be pushed ahead to a little competition. A poll to be exact. After a week of polling, the top voted artist becomes a Lanky Shank.

A what?

A Lanky Shank. The official winners of the promotion. The artist will be added to a compilation which will be sold here. Also, you will gain further random promotion on this page by way of "Featured artists", articles in "The Tavern" and additions to the links section. Oh, and anything else that I can think of in time.

How do you join?

Easy enough. Just click on the RANKS link and sign up there. It'll only take a minute and before long, you'll be on your way to becoming an official Lanky Shank.

Is it free?

Yes. Of course, yes. It wouldn't be a free promotion if it didn't have that important element of freeness. On the other hand, if you wanna donate some spare change to the cause... there are ways you can do so.

Who are Top 5 Lanky Rankers?

Each week, the top 5 ranked artists in the LANKY RANKS will have to fight it out to see who wins the promotion, thus receiving all the benefits. I call them the Lanky Five

So, what do you do?

Ummm... Vote. The artist with the most votes after a week will get the all exclusive prize pack which, as you know by now, includes compilations, featured artist promotion, write-ups and so much more!

Do I have anything else to add?

Why yes, yes I do.

Whenever an artist wins the promotion, they will be taken out off the LANKY RANKS page and added to the WINNERS page, which will contain information on them and a review, plus some other cool stuff.

Also, as a little extra incentive, when you join the promotion, you will remain in it until you win. So, promote, click and vote and some day soon, you'll be an official Lanky Rank and with that, all the free promotion that I can offer. How's that sound?

Music silly. Each winner of this promotion will automatically be included in a future cd involving some of the best indie artist on the net today. It will be sold on this site and beyond plus the chance to sell them yourself.

Give it time. Due to this promotion being in the early stages, no CD's have been created yet. Check back for future developments.

Album: The Life and Death of Scarlett Ridge.

Song: Inevitable

Ambient, softened metallic textures carry dark ethereal robotic vocals that speak a message about the possibilities of the future and psychic experience. The track sets an intense mood quite powerfully for an ambient style. The purposeful vocal delivery carries a sinister feel that is backed up by the eerie resonant filter based sounds and a relentless punishing backbeat electronic drum pattern that has an almost ethnic quality. I can see really this track in the next Tarrantino movie (I dread to think what the actors will be doing to each other - hehe) This track is most likely to succeed in an underground concept way or be part of a film sound track. Like many other great tracks on the station, this isn't mainstream but it has a quality that deserves to see the light of day.
