Landmark Spain, 2003!
Well, we made it to Granada after more than 24 hours of travel, and our first day yesterday went quite well--we spent the afternoon at Alhambra, exploring its wonderful palaces, towers, and gardens.

So far, everyone's in good health and high spirits, and were trying to have a lot of fun.  We head for Sevilla on a Wednesday-morning train, so we'll have some photos from there soon!
Welcome to our web page for our trip to Spain!  This summer, a group of fifteen students and three faculty members will be spending six weeks in Spain, and this page is our chance to share the experience with you.  Watch here for updates and new photos all trip long, and follow your friend or son or daughter all around the Iberian peninsula!

One of the most amazing things in Spain is the way that roses grow so full and rich--they even grow up the walls, and they make great subjects for photos.  I'll try to put on some pictures of roses soon.
The main entrance to the Alhambra is through the Puerta de la Justicia, which is set up so that it can be easily defended against any type of invader--even American college students.
The full view of the Alhambra from across the way is an extremely impressive sight, especially around the time that the sun's going down.  Erik and Brian can be a nice sight, too, though they are kind of blocking the view of the buildings, aren't they?
Most people are amazed to see that theres still snow on the Sierra Nevada this late in the year, but its pretty normal, actually.  It makes for a beautiful backdrop when youe on the Torre de la Vela, too.
I think Marta looks happy in this picture, but it's really hard to tell, isn't it?  She could be sending a message to someone, too. . . .
As time goes on, you're going to find photos on the following pages, all of which should be pretty self-explanatory:

granada - sevilla - mrida
bjar - toledo - salamanca - tossa - barcelona
