| Centrepoint
works to improve the lives of young people who are homeless or at
risk because they do not have a safe place to stay.

| They
provide direct services to young people, helping them address their
personal, social, educational and vocational needs, and provide
accommodation for more than 500 young people each night. |

Land
Aid have raised nearly £400,000 for Centrepoint's work with
homeless young people in London over the past 15 years - The donations
enabled them to open new specialist projects in Soho, flats and
bedsits further out in Greater London and refurbish a project or
two as well.

The
London Connection is the one of the largest and busiest
day centre’s in the country for homeless young people. Based
in St Martins in the Field the centre provides a wide range of services
to help young homeless people get back on their feet. Land Aid raised
£50,000 towards essential building services.

The
Kings Cross Furniture Project aims to recycle household
furniture and white goods by providing them at a low cost to those
in need. At the same time they provide placement and training
for volunteers and assist them in getting paid employment. Land
Aid's cheque for £20,000 was used towards the purchase of
a van and a driver's salary.

| Hope
and Homes for Children offer a future for young victims of
war and disaster. Land Aid donated £45,000 to buy one complete
home for ten orphaned children in Romania. This meant that the children
could be removed from the terrible conditions they were enduring in
state orphanages and given a warm, safe and secure home. |

The
West London Day Centre works mainly with the homeless
aged 25yrs and over for whom an unsettled lifestyle may have been
established for many years. Their aim is to encourage people to
accept personal responsibility, develop new skills and to maximize
personal fulfillment and independence. Land Aid contributed £
70,000 towards the major refurbishment and modernization of their
building.

| Look
Ahead Housing and Care’s hostel in Aldgate provides
immediate accommodation for 160 single homeless people. Through a
progressive programme of support services the hostel staff also seek
to prevent future rough sleeping. This includes specialist drug, alcohol
and mental health services and an employment-training centre. Land
Aid provided £20,000 to help with refurbishment works on the
communal rooms at the hostel. |
| The
St John at Hackney Community Space Centre works towards the
long term recovery of homeless people teaching them the skills required
to rejoin the community. Land Aid donated £10,000 which enabled
them to refit the kitchens at the centre. |

| Empty
Homes Agency: The Empty Homes Agency is an independent
campaigning charity, which exists to highlight the waste of empty
property in England and works with others to devise and promote
solutions to bring empty and wasted property back into use. Land
Aid have contributed £ 250,000.
