| Sometimes, I am questioned about my fasination or attraction to clowns, masks, or patomines. Lord o Lord, sometines, i wonder myself. I think that my reasoning is clear, at least it is to me. Clowns, patomines, or theatrical masks usually represent, jolly and happiness or a spirit of theatrics or acting. Behind the mask, you can't tell what's really going on with the individual. A clown at a circus can be miserable, but behind his mask, he is making everybody think that he is happy and free. Patomines, have their expressions painted on their face, again, their real emotions or expressions are covered or hidden. Back in the Day, there was a song out by Smokie Robinson called the "Tears of a Clown". Some of words were, tears of a clown when no one else is around. I can't remembers all the lyrics, but i believe that it had to do with a relationship that had gone bad and the "Brotha" was in pain. But around his "peeps", he had to pretend that he was not hurting and that everything was going well. He was acting and pretending, but inside he was hurting, hurting bad. The clowns, theatrical masks, patomines represents to me the hurting and pains that people go through, yet they walk around like everything is going find. I have found out in my walk with the Lord that Christians, mightily used by God, hide behind masks. They walk around talking victory and doing a great work for the Lord, but their own personal relationship with God is broken. Whether it is because of sin, doubt, fear, pressures of life, whatever, but because of their position or reputation, they walk around ministering, but broken, in pain before God. God wants us to have a broken and contrite spirit, in humbness toward him, but he does not want us to be broken because of hurt and pain. I am not saying that christians should walk around having a pity party, but i believe that we should be honest with ourselves, shed our pretense and get some deliverance so that we can walk in complete victory. I As Chrisitans we know that God is able to do all things. Whether it be by prayer, fasting or participating in a healing and deliverance retreat, if we as a people that love God can take off the masks and allow him the do a work in us. God is Faithful, he is able to heal, deliver and set free!. |
