| Chapter 2: Not My Type Baby, its the way you make me, kinda get me go crazy, never wanna stop... Kayla, Kassandra and Juliet had been singing the entire way to Albany. They even went as far as to decorate my car with posters and wrote BSB Forever on the back windshield. Luckily we were almost to the hotel so I cold finally get a break from their constant singing. I pulled into the parking garage, we grabbed our luggage and went to the desk to check in. We were staying two nights since the boys were performing two shows. We got checked in and went up to our rooms. I opened the door and walked in. The room was enormous. What are we going to need all this space for? I thought, since Kayla and I were sharing a room and Juliet and Kassandra were sharing the room adjacent to us. This place is huge, Kassandra said. Do you think the Backstreet Boys are staying here? Its a possibility, I said, thinking. This is a five star hotel and it is right across from the arena. Oh my god, were staying in the same hotel as the Backstreet Boys! she yelled. I said its a possibility, not a definite. Oh let her pretend, Juliet said. Fine. Well I dont know about you guys, but Im gonna take a shower and get ready since we only have three hours till the meet and greet, I said, heading for the shower. Sounds like a plan, Juliet said as she led Kassandra to their room. The next couple of hours we spent primping. Since it was the end of June I was debating on either the black skirt or the black pants. I decided on the black pants because they looked better with my top. The top was hot pink with a criss-cross, string back. I crimped my hair for a more exotic look, did my make-up and went to check on the girls. Are you guys ready to meet the Backstreet Boys? I asked, getting a little excited myself. Yeah! they screamed. Well then lets get going, I yelled, heading out the door with them not far behind. ******Meanwhile****** At the Pepsi Arena screaming could be heard through every hall. What do you mean the meet and greet was never announced! Denise McLean screamed into her cell phone. The boys specifically asked to have the meet and greet this show because it was the only venue where they were doing two shows. A voice at the other end tried to explain, but Denise cut them off. I dont want to hear excuses. Im very disappointed with you Jonathan. If something like this happens again Ill have you fired, she yelled putting the cell back in her purse. She looked up and saw the boys looking at her with surprise. Im just a little stressed. You need to chill out mom, AJ said, giving his mother a hug. I know. Well, I guess theres no meet and greet guys. Im sorry. Its not your fault Denise. Dont worry about it, Howie said sympathetically. Well, at least we dont have to deal with hoards of screaming fans, Kevin said. I already have a headache. They all nodded, but looked upset at the fact that they couldnt see their fans. ******Outside the Arena****** I wonder where everyone is, I thought, looking at the empty arena. There were no screaming fans, no security guards. In fact, there was absolutely no one there but the four of us. We walked up to the entrance, but the door into the arena was locked. What the hell? I thought. There should be at least some security guard or someone. Just then a security guard walked by. The girls and I pounded on the door to get his attention. Walking over to the door he said, Im sorry girls, but the concert isnt for a few hours. Im afraid youll have to leave for now. But were here for the meet and greet, I informed him. Im sorry, but there is no meet and greet, he replied. There has to be. We have passes, I said, showing him our passes. He just discarded the passes and repeated that there was no meet and greet. I looked over at my sister and her friends. They looked on the verge of crying. By now I was tired from having driven for four hours and the security guard here was being a royal pain in my ass and I couldnt take it. I started screaming at him. Just then some lady walked over and asked what the problem was. We have meet and greet passes and this idiot wont let us in! I screamed. The lady looked at us confused and asked how we got them. I explained how my moms friend is a security guard and had gotten them for us. Well this is interesting, she said. Im Denise McLean, the road manager for the Backstreet Boys and I was under the impression that the meet and greet was never announced. I guess not. Does that mean we cant meet them? Kassandra asked. Of course not. Id be happy to bring you back to meet them, Denise replied. Were gonna meet the Backstreet Boys! Kayla screamed. Denise laughed, then led us down the hall to the room that the boys were in. Looks like theres a meet and greet after all, Denise announced as we walked into the room. Whats this? Howie asked, looking at us curiously. Well apparently someone knew about a meet and greet and issued these girls passes, Denise explained to them. Good thing, Nick said, looking at Kayla but quickly shifted his gaze when he realized what he had said. Its nice to have you here, Kevin said. Id be willing to bet you know who we are, but we dont know who you are. Kayla took the initiative, Im Kayla. These are my friends Juliet and Kassandra. Back there is my sister Eve. Not much for talking is she? the cute blonde girl standing next to AJ asked. Oh, by the way, Im Ally, AJs girlfriend. The three girls just nodded, then Kassandra piped up. Do the rest of you have girlfriends? she asked excitedly. I laughed. I had to. She was just so forward. No we dont, Howie responded, looking her straight in the eye. Do you girls have boyfriends? Brian countered. If we had boyfriends, do you think theyd like the idea of us meeting the Backstreet Boys? Juliet responded. I think Ill take that as a no, Brian laughed. This is going well, I thought. Not one of them has passed out yet. Hey, why dont you come join us. I looked up from my thoughts to see Kevin waving me over. I got up, walked towards them and took a seat next to Kevin. You must be Eve, AJ said staring at me. Yeah, that would be me, I replied. Well, its nice of you to actually join us, he said. For sure, I said, feeling really out of place. There was an awkward silence which was soon broken by Nick. So how old are you girls? he asked. Evie is twenty, Kayla answered. Some younins huh? Nick said. Youre one to talk. Arent you the baby in the group? I countered. Well, yeah, but Im still older then you all, he said. Just barely, I replied. So where are you sitting at the concert tonight? Ally asked, changing the subject. Front row! Juliet exclaimed. That means we get to look at your lovely faces all night, AJ said, glancing at me. Ally noticed where AJs eyes were roaming and a scowl formed on her face. She was a very jealous person and her mind was working overtime. He better not get any ideas, Ally thought, looking at her boyfriend. Isnt it time you guys got ready for the show? Ally asked trying to break up this little party. Yeah, it is, Howie said glancing at the clock. I guess well see you guys at the show. I guess so, Kassandra said, looking back as she walked out. Juliet and I followed her, but Kayla hung back for a second. So whats with your sister? AJ asked Kayla. No offense, but shes not a huge fan. She kinda got dragged into taking us. I see, AJ said with a mischievous look in his eyes. Ill see if I can change that. Ally stood in the background watching her boyfriend with a look of contempt in her eyes. I know what hes thinking, she thought. And its not going to happen. |
