Chapter 1:  Yeah Right

Oh my god!  I cant believe we actually got tickets!  Front row tickets!  my little sister Kayla exclaimed.

I never thought wed get front row, her best friend Kassandra remarked.

See, I told you if we went to the arena to get tickets theyd be good, Juliet, the third in the group, stated.

You guys are eight-teen.  Arent you a little old to be obsessing over the Backstreet Boys? I questioned.

Oh hush Eve.  Besides, youre twenty and youre the one who offered to take us, Kayla responded.

No.  Im taking you because none of you have a car and I do, I stated.  Besides, you know Im not into that stuff.

Oh yeah, cause Korn and Limp Bizkit are, like, mad cool, she mimicked.

Fred Durst.  Now there is a hottie, I said.

Okay, stop arguing.  I want to go home and brag to Alex that Im going to the concert and shes not, Kassandra said.

Alright, lets get going, I said.

The ride from the Pepsi Arena in Albany, back home to Rochester was a long one and I wasnt about to be stuck listening to three obsessive teenage girls singing along to the Backstreet Boys, so I pulled out my head phones and put in the new Limp Bizkit cd.

Thats much better, I thought as I started the long drive back to Rochester.

I cant believe Im going to a Backstreet Boys concert, I kept thinking the whole way home.  I must be crazy.

At about five p.m. I pulled into our driveway.  The long ride home had put the three girls to sleep.

Theyve had way too much excitement for one day, I thought as I turned off the car and got out.  I walked up the side walk and in the front door.

Mom, were home, I yelled up the stairs.

So did you get good seats? she asked.

I better let Kayla tell you.  She should be coming in soon.  She, Juliet and Kassandra fell asleep and I didnt want to wake them.  Theyve had too much excitement, I said reaching the computer room at the top of the stairs.

Well, I can guarantee that they are about to become even more excited, my mom said with a large smile.

What do you mean? I asked.

Youll see, she said.

Two seconds later the front door burst open and the three girls came running up the stairs.

Front row, Kayla screamed, out of breath.

Thats great honey!  I have some good news.  A friend of mine is a security guard at the Blue Cross Arena.  Well, he just got transferred to the Pepsi Arena and guess what he got the four of you? she exclaimed.

What? the four of us said in unison.

Meet and Greet passes! she gushed.

I cant believe it! Kassandra shrieked.

Mom, youre the best, Kayla cried.

Mrs. Johns, you are so cool, Juliet exclaimed.

Arent you excited Evie? my mom asked when I didnt jump up and down like everyone else.

Yeah, sure, I said, rather unenthusiastically.

And so it begins, I thought, not knowing this little event would end up changing my life as I knew it.
