| Chapter 15: Making the Band I think Im going to die, exclaimed Kass. I cant feel my legs. Are they still there? Juliet asked as she looked down. Come on girls! Tonights the night. You need to work! yelled Sebastian Kraft, our new choreographer. For two days we sang, danced and rehearsed non-stop. Since we only had one song we had to extend it to make room for a dance break. Sebastian, honey, darling, we need a break, I said, sweat trickling down my face. Sebastian looked at me then the other girls who were collapsed on the floor. Alright, he sighed. But make it quick. I walked out into the hall to cool off while the other girls lay motionless on the floor. Just as I was walking back into the rehearsal hall a pair of arms grabbed me around the waist. I let out a small cry of surprise. You are so sexy, even if you are hot and sweaty. I smiled and replied, And you know just what to say to make a girl feel special. AJ turned me around and kissed my nose. Always. I sank into AJs arms, enjoying the moment of rest. He held me close to him and played with my hair. I was just starting to relax when someone came out into the hall. Im sorry to interrupt Eve, but we need to finish rehearsal, said Sebastian. Ill be right there, I said to him. I turned to AJ and gave him a quick kiss. Time to go make our performance perfect for tonight. Youll be perfect no matter what. You are the best boyfriend a girl could have. And dont you forget it babe. How could I? I said and walked back to go and finish rehearsal. ******That Night****** Whats up Sacramento?! We are Eternity and were gonna shake it up a bit with our new single Dont Call Me Baby. Are you ready? One, two, three, hit me! The lights flashed and a strong beat filled the air. I sang and danced with all my heart. The girls looked right at home on stage. Loud screams filling the arena motivated us. All the hard work we did paid off. At the end of the song the audience erupted with a tremendous round of applause. Once again, we are Eternity and that was Dont Call Me Baby. If you like what you heard, you can go pick up a copy of the single, FOR FREE, at the main level entrance. You guys have been a great audience. Thank you and good night! I screamed into my microphone. The girls and I ran off the stage, our hearts pounding. What a rush! I yelled once we were backstage. That was so fun! Kayla exclaimed. I could definitely get used to doing that all the time, Kass remarked. Oh my god, you guys were incredible, Anya exclaimed, running up to us, the boys close behind her. That was really impressive, Howie said, kissing Kass on the cheek. Kass blushed lightly and smiled up at him. You guys are naturals, Kevin said. Soon well be opening for you, AJ remarked. Now youre pushing it, I said. Seriously, you guys are amazing, Nick said. And you guys are going to miss your entrance if you keep this up, I said. The guys all looked at each other and, with out another word, turned and bolted down the corridor. Men, I said, shaking my head as I watched the guys vanish around the corner. ******************** Your sisters are really talented, Kevin said as he and Anya walked back to the bus. I knew they were good playing clubs back home, but I had no idea that they would be able to do something like that, Anya replied. Do you sing as well? A little, Anya said, smiling. Will you sing a little for me? Anya looked into Kevins pleading eyes and began to sing. And it's a leap of faith, when you believe there's someone out there, it's a leap of faith when you believe that someone cares, oh, and when I call out to you, will you be right there, right there*. Anya opened her eyes, not realizing she had shut them, and looked up at Kevin. A beautiful voice to match a beautiful girl, he said. Anya blushed and managed a quick thank you. Anya, I know we dont know each other that much, but would you like to go out sometime? Kevin asked, finally finding his courage. Id love to Kevin, she replied. Great, Kevin grabbed her hand and led her onto the bus. *Leap of Faith, Michelle Branch |
