In addition to all the new equipment, we auctioned off numerous great fresh- and saltwater fishing trips and want to thanks the following members and friends: DIANA BONE AND MATT SHURTLEFF OF THE WILLAPA GANG, JOHN CALVO, DIRK SIMMONS, DAVID POWELL, ROGER AND LINDA URBANIAK, CHUCK WISCHMAN, MARR MULLEN, HERB AHTEN, AND RICH AND DIANE ELLIOTT. Finally, there were our members who reached down deep to ensure we had plenty of gear and artwork to auction off: JOHN BARKER (lots of great tackle), BOB FAINE (photography), STEWART ALCORN (artwork), HERB AHTEN (fresh crab!), STAN PASIN, BOB SECREST (half a garage-full of gear), ROGER AND LINDA URBANIAK, DICK STREATER, DAVID ZAPLISCKI, AND RICH AND DIANE ELLIOTT. As always happens, there are undoubtedly people whom I have missed, and they will be acknowledged in our next report. The event could not have succeeded without the outstanding efforts of Auction chair Roger Urbaniak, treasurer Bob Secrest, retail solicitations chair Bob Faine, facilities chair Charlie Fahsholtz, trips chair Herb Ahten, David Powell, and Frank Shaver. Our women members were a big help, including Linda Urbaniak, Anita Ahten and Virginia Secrest at the Auction and Diane Elliott with the forms. Our next big event will be the annual mid-summer cookout and picnic at Chuck and Judy Wischman's waterfront place on Mercer Island, 4007 W. Mercer Way. That will start around 2pm on Thursday August 13th. Summer fishing reports are beginning to come in. The Elliotts and Dorns (Fidalgo PSA) had their 23rd annual fishing trip to the WCVI with Leslie Dorn scoring the derby prize with a 32.75 lb. chinook ("spring"). An 88-lb. hallie also hit the deck of the Elliott boat. There will be many more fish stories at our upcoming meetings (some of which may even be true), so come and join us!
