My Work:
I am an Interaction Designer working in the Pervasive Computing group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. I specialize in the design of conversational speech interfaces.

My projects include the
Virtual Assistant which is a speech-based solution supporting mobile knowledge workers' need to access business information such as email and calendar entries while traveling. This solution can be accessed from any phone, and uses a combination of statistical based speech recognition, dialog management and synthetic speech to create a conversational interface.

Another project that I am working on,
BlueSpace, actually does not have any speech components in it (yet). We are looking at the integration of sensor technologies and off-the-desktop displays in ways which could be used to solve many of the common problems experienced by users in a cubicle environment. The components that I am most interested in involve team awareness, communication, as well as the use of peripheral displays for information monitoring.
