Links!
Leaving so
soon? Well, here are some sites that I definitely approve of.
Warning: Some sites
aren't appropriate for baby gremlins (or people who act as such), and I've made
a note of them.

REFERENCE
The
Internet Movie Database - An unbelievably extensive encyclopedia
of movies and such. Read my dang reviews!
All Things Animated - Sadly, Yesterdayland is no more. For those of us who miss the unbelievably useful Pop-O-Pedia, here is a recently created and rather promising not-quite-a-mirror site.
The Memory Lane Archive - It's been under construction for a while now but so far it looks pretty great!
the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy
- A massive, visitor-written encyclopedia of Life, the Universe,
and *Everything*. It is also the coolest Douglas Adams memorial on the web (well,
aside from THIS).
S.N.O.P.E.S. - The
Urban Legends Reference Page - There's a lot more to urban
legends than hook-handed murderers in campfire stories. Check it out! (WARNING:
Scary stories abound!)
Myths and Legends Reference
Page - A huge list of links to mythology and fantasy-themed websites, this is THE place to go when you need to know the name of the Egyptian winged snake who causes solar eclipses (time's up, it was Apep) in a hurry.
Grapholina - This would be where I found me that spiffy "fairy dust" bar graphic. Thanks, Grapholina!
MOVIES
The
Stinkers! - Tons of links to great sites about cheesy movies
(the best kind :)
Stomp Tokyo! - Old-school
"Godzilla" movies and more! Make sure you check out it's brother sites as well.
the Editing Room -
Parodies, parodies, parodies. My favorites are his takes on "Star Wars
Episode 1" and "Harry Potter". (WARNING:
Lots of swears and general mayhem!)
the Secret of N.I.M.H.
Archive - Beautiful, and it's got a great skewering of the
sequel.
the
Neverending Story Page - Has discourses on both the movie
and the book. Want proof that's what Bastian's mother's name was? (I *still*
like my theory better.)
Think Labyrinth!
- Excellent "Labyrinth" site with a massive collection of memorabilia, including
a readable (is that a word?) early draft of the script. Now who the hell hires
Jareth as a *baby-sitter*?
Jim's Wizard of OZ Page - Tons of trivia from the Land of
OZ. I'll bet you had no idea there was more than one OZ book, let alone more
than one movie. This site's link page is astonishing!
TEEVEE and CARTOONS

Excellent site where you
get to argue when, exactly, your favorite show started to suck. I also happen
to like their title animation. (WARNING:
Some naughty language.)
Sad to say, it's very unlikely
that we'll see a Complete Guide (a la "the Simpsons") for "Futurama".
Here's a site that has an unofficial version.
the
Freakalair - "Hey little web surfer. Wanna visit a radical
'Freakazoid' page?" "DO I???!!!???"
the Flipside!
- Dedicated to "Kidd Video". THE strangest (and, arguably, most totally rad)
80's cartoon of all time.
the Simpsons Archive - Lots
and lots of trivia from Springfield. It's lists like "every mention of
monkeys and other primates" that make this one a bookmark must.
A Room With a Moose - "Aw, my bees!"
Homestar Runner - Awesome Flash cartoons with adorable characters. Go, enjoy, and get all the terrific little songs in your head all day long. (NOTE: requires Flash and is much kinder to people with a faster upload time)
Chris' Fraggle
Rock Page - Has a list of every single person/place/creature
that ever appeared on what is arguably the greatest *adult* series for kids
of all time.
Behind
the Wall: Fraggle Rock Online - Another awesome Fraggle page.
the Captain Planet Foundation
- I can't believe it either, but it looks like everyone's favorite obsessively
P.C. superhero is still saving the world! Here's where you can help (and
don't get me wrong; this is actually quite cool).
TOYS!
Dream
Valley: a Collector's Guide to My Little Pony - This was
the first encyclopedia-style website I ever visited. IMHO, every such site should
be as extensive as this one. That's not too much to ask is it?
the Map of Ponyland
- So... many... links! Can't... deal...!!!
X-Entertainment
- Many articles about action figures and tons of "Star Wars"
stuff. But, really, any website that has a four page long essay on why
"the Worst Witch" is the most disturbing children's movie this side of "Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is going to make my links list anyway. (WARNING:
The guys writing this stuff are downright adorable, but they all have potty
mouths!)
WEIRD (WARNING! These sites are DEFINITELY not for baby gremlins!)
![]()
Ah, the legendary Onion. Offensive as hell and freakin' hilarious.
Fark! - I like this site
because as far as real news is concerned, this is about the only place
I get mine (go figure). I also like this site because it is fun to say the word
"Fark". Try it! "FAAAAAAAAAAAARRRK!!!"
Disturbing Auctions - There are two kinds of people
in this world: those of us who know what that Ram's Head Snuff Mull thing is
and what it is for and those of us who just look at it and become very, very
scared.
Mr. Cranky Rates
the Movies - "Why the hell don't you idiots ever talk about
the damn movies?" ^_^
the Brunching Shuttlecocks
- Another site where it's actually worth it to hunt through the archives. Includes
many discourses on 80s cartoons! (No longer updating, but the archive is still up! Yay!)
Quacker
County - Absolutely insane! Home of the Beanie Baby Torture Chamber
and the Evil Dead Pony.
Cartoon
Over-Analizations - It warms my heart to know there are folks out
there who take cartoons more seriously than even I. (His site has been down for a while, but he is thinking of bringing it back someday... I hope.)
the Clown-Phobic's
Webpage - "A clown is nice... A clown is my friend... A clown
will not bite me and throw me in the basement..."

By the way, if you wanna link to me (and you know you want to) use this cool
link button I whipped up.

Or, you could use this scary banner! Major thanks to my dearest cuz at the Realm of Mad-Ness
for making this for me.
