First developed in Coulee Dam, Washington, the Palomino is a very meaty commercial rabbit. Mark Young, who first bred the Palomino, wanted a rabbit that was both a meat rabbit and was pleasing to look at. Palominos mature slower than most rabbits. It is, however, worth a wait, since Palominos have a higher meat-to-carcass ratio than many other meat rabbits. Palominos are amiable, calm rabbits that enjoy cuddling and attention (like many rabbits.)
