A shiver ran down the length of her spine as Princess Ruby's breath escaped from her. The cavern was so silent, so still. It seemed such a dark and empty place without the warm presence of her dear friend. Her peaceful world had suddenly became a cruel and very dangerous place.

She exhaled the breath that she had been holding and forced herself to remain as calm as possible. Suddenly she was aware of a very strange feeling. Her magnificent horn seemed to come alive with a magic force of it's own. It was as if it had a voice of it's own and Princess Ruby intently listened.

She slowly approached the nest of the ancient one and touched her horn to it. She gasps as a vision surrounded her as if she were actually part of the scene that was revealed to her in that instant. She saw her dear friend tethered and bound, the harsh ropes painfully cutting into the scales of her massive serpentine body. She looked directly into Draceana's huge, sad brown eyes. She was bearing this humiliation and suffering with a stoic resolve to rise above her terrible situation.

Tears filled Princess Ruby's large green eyes as her heart went out to her friend in this perilous situation. She heard herself calling Dracena's name aloud and as if Draceana could hear, she looked directly into Princess Ruby's startled eyes. She clearly heard Darceana saying, "Ruby, my dear, you must be strong! You must call upon the power within yourself that has lain dormant these many years., The time of testing has begun.  I am waiting for you and I know that we have the power to overcome the ordeal that lies ahead for both of us."


Princess Ruby could clearly see and hear the horrific Jankernauts as they shouted and danced around Drecana with their awkward movements, jabbing their spears upward in the air in a grotesque dance of victory.
She turned and with quick lithe movements galloped from the portal of the cavern. She must speed with the utmost haste to find her dear friend who is in such dire need of her help.
