Clean
pet urine from the carpet?
First, blot up what you can with paper towels.
Mix one teaspoon mild dishwashing detergent
in one cup warm water, dip a clean towel in
the liquid and, working from outside in, dab
at stain. Do not over wet Rinse with fresh water
and blot dry. Next, add on-third cup white vinegar
with two-thirds cup water and dab on stain.
Rinse with water; ;blot until dry. Once area
is totally dry (after at least 24 hours), sprinkle
entire carpet with baking soda or rug deodorizer.
Vacuum after a few hours.

Marble
Tables ?
Clean marble tables and
surfaces and even remove stains. Simply squeeze
lemon juice onto the stain or the entire surface
and work it into the marble with a thick soft
cloth. As soon as you see the stain "lift",
rinse the top with mineral water.

Parchment
Shades
Parchment
shades can be washed. The secret is to coat
them, when new, with a thin, sprayed film of
flat, clear, non-yellowing shellac. Afterwards,
you can wash them whenever necessary with a
damp cloth.

Erase
white heat marks and water rings on wood furniture?
If
the wood has a good finish (don't try on bare
wood), mix equal parts of baking soda an regular
white, Noangel toothpaste. Lightly dampen corner
of a clean, soft white cloth with water and
dip into the paste. With circular motion gently
buff the marks for a few minutes. Wipe area
clean, and buff to a shine. Follow with furniture
polish. (If rings remain after buffing five
minutes or so, they may have penetrated the
wood; you might have to refinish the piece).

Furniture
Polish Formula
No
matter what the commercials say, the best polish
you can use on your furniture is a pure oil
polish, like a pure lemon oil or a pure cedar
oil. You need two different ingredients. You
need a tablespoon of lemon oil, (not to be confused
with lemon extract), and you need a pint of
mineral oil.
Lemon oil is
pretty pricey , but you're only going to use
a tablespoon full. Pour the lemon oil into the
bottle of mineral oil. Mix it up real good,
and replace the cap. (You'll probably be able
to dispense it a little easier if you put it
in a spray bottle).
Now you just
take your rag and work it over so you cover
the whole surface and then polish it up real
good. It's going to gleam just like it was brand
new.

Stop
Table Scratches
Just
buy ordinary felt and glue it onto the bottom
of ashtrays, vases, and collectibles. That way,
their sharp edges will not mar your woodwork.
Glue or double-faced tape will secure the felt.

Lift
candle wax that dripped onto the carpet?
Once
wax has hardened, scrape up what you can with
a dull knife. Put paper towels or and old, white
cloth over the area; with iron on low-warm (no
steam), gently press. As wax is lifted, move
towels so a clean part covers the remaining
wax; repeat until wax is gone. If colored wax
leaves a stain, blot with spot remover or carpet
cleaner, following label directions.

Please Note: I do not take responsibility
should something unforeseen occur while using these tips.
I've tried many of the applications found on these pages,
and haven't encountered any difficulties.
Also, I get an awful lot of e-mail requesting
help with this or that. If you don't get a reply, it's because
I don't have an answer.
I am extremely busy with my job, and my family;
I just don't have the time to get back to everyone. Sorry.
