| MODERN DRAMA Ben, Jessica, Vincent, and Ling-Ling are four new lawyers. These strangers end up working for HK, one of the less well known firms in town. With these four successful lawyers, maybe with the exception of the shy and jumpy Jessica, they are able to rake in more clients so that the firm won't have to shut down, due to debt to the boss's ex-partner, Angela, who is also a successful and well known lawyer, and also Jessica's aunt. Twists and turns, including cases gives the viewers feedback on each characters' background, and of course, totally messing up the coupling!!! As two of the lawyers fall in love, the other two are left heartbroken... |

I feel so bad for Sammul Chan, who plays Vincent, because this is his second role in which his character is a bad guy. Personally, I think Vincent is worst than Ken from "Reaching Out." Vincent is all about MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! *OOPS... I guess you weren't supposed to know that until later...* I read a review for this movie on www.spcnet.tv/ and I agree, Sammul doesn't put much emotion into his characters, but when he does, it seems really fake and overdramatized. He does, however, make the perfect lawyer or business man. ^_^ I was really surprised to see Ramond Lam (Ben from "Survivor's Law"). He managed to clean up his look for this movie to look more like a lawyer, or at least an adult, whereas in "Golden Faith," he really did look like a young high school or college student. Of course the hair and the glasses gave Ramond the sophisticated look. The theme song he sings for this movie is perfect, as if Ben himself had written the song. Ling-Ling, I knew I saw her in another movie before... I just didn't remember that she was from "Golden Faith." Man, I knew the face, but the look was just so different; from a childish girl to a sophisticated lawyer... I may not like her hairdo in this movie, but it does give her a classy, feminine look. As for Jessica, she has got to be the strangest lawyer I've seen. She's so mousey and childlike... Her being a lawyer is downright impossible! I'm surprised how her compassion can allow her to win a case at all! BACK |
