"Reaching Out" prettty much centers around these 3 orphans: Dai Foke Sung (AKA "Dai Ah Gaw" meaning big brother), Lau Yee Sowk, and Go Wai Ting (AKA 9th sister). They are the best of friends, probably their friendship is stronger than those of real siblings. Foke Sung is considered as a "good guy." He's hardworking, resposible, witty and cunning, and tries to help as many people as possible. Every morning, he'd ride his bike to the bridge and bring food to where the elderly bums live. Yee Sowk, is the complete opposite of Foke Sung. He's such a flake. He's always late for work, lazy, sleeps a lot, a flirt, has a record of keeping a job for like 2 weeks. All in all, he's had 19 jobs.

Anyways, 9th sister is a reporter for a news station and later on goes out with her boss, Superman (that's his nickname of course!). Superman was married but his wife is very jealous and tends to go a lil psycho with fighting with Superman and ends up getting (and giving) bruises. Superman felt sorry for her and decides that they stay married, but each live in seperate places. 9th sister and Superman's relationship got more intimate because they were able to work so well together in a couple of news stories, and of course the wife wanted to hurt 9th sis... but the "love triangle" was solved all thanks to Foke Sung ^_^
Meanwhile, Yee Sowk had managed to get a job as a mail boy in an advertisement agency and he fell in love with one of the advertisment designers, Jess. Unfortunately for Yee Sowk, Jess only sees him as a very good friend. There are some conflict between Jess and an evil woman who rivals Jess in work (but definitly not looks!) and a perverted boss. Anyways, during one of the advertising projocts, they needed an electrician company so Yee Sowk brought Foke Sung in to help out. Foke Sung and Jess got off on a rocky start but they eventually clear it up. Later on, Jess got fed up with having to deal with the perverted boss and left, and ended up working elsewhere... with Ken entering the picture.

*Sigh* I guess I should mention something about the other characters, but I didn't really want to ruin what happens next with meeting with Ken ^_^. Ok, so anyways, Spider Girl is a rich and successful young woman. She is a bit paranoid about everyone else, except for her older twin sister. Due to her paranoia, she doesn't trust anyone, especially guys who are supposedly good, like Foke Sung, and is determinded to make everyone's lives miserable. Just to let you know, she's not so bad in the end ^_^. Lau Lik is Yee Sowk's dad. He had left Yee Sowk at the orphanage because he was out of the country working. He'd make promises that he'd come back to see Yee Sowk, but he never did, and that's why Yee Sowk hates him. Chun Giu is Foke Sung's mom... I'm not gonna go into detail cuz there is story to their relationship.and that'll ruin the movie!

My Thoughts: CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS! Hehe... In Dragon Love, I fell in love with Benny's character, in Reaching Out, I fell more in love with him! ^_^ Personally, I think he's so much hotter with the spiked up hair ^_~ Wow, the guy can act, look good doing that!, and sing! I love the theme song to Reaching Out, for more theme songs by him, also look for the theme song from Dragon Love. I love that theme too! Ok, ok, enough about how hot Benny is... I thought it was so funny how Yee Sowk and Lau Lik fought. I can't remember what some were, though... Hmm... Kenix Kwok, who plays Spider Girl, really looks the part when being a business woman. In another movie, A Kindred Spirit, which she was in for like maybe about 20 episodes, and towards the beginning of the very long series, she was also a business woman, well actually, she was some kind of designer. What I want to say is that she looks the part when wearing some kind of suit. In Reaching Out, she looks the part of being heartless. Sammul Chan is obviously new, ok, so I'm a lil bias when dealing with him cuz I just hated his character in Reaching Out; stealing his friend's girlfriend?! What kinda friend is that?! And he considers Foke Sung as his BEST FRIEND nonetheless!
