This crest, depicting our family, was designed
by my parents. There's a bit of
our recent family history here...
I love pigs and my late grandfather, along with my father
raised pigs for a second income.
My favorite color is pink. My father's favorite is
black. He also likes to carve, and has made a
family crest to hang on the wall of their home.
There's also a humorous side to this...
The latin family motto is engraved here.
It literally translates to
"In debt for life".
One way or another, we are. :)
Then, my mother scanned his sketches and
used her graphic program on her computer to
colorize and send this to me.
Thanks Dad. Thanks Mom.
NOTE: In doing coat of arms research, my
mother found words of interest. The surname coat of
arms from yesteryear is a registered crest. In other
words, the crest from ancestors doesn't necessarily
mean we (as a family name) own the rights to the
crest itself. You can legally register your own
family's coat of arms through your country's government
if you choose.
[centuries ago, the crest was used
as a clan's shield during battles, as was the clan's
tartan. That way, during times of war, or feuds, the
men in battle, along with kings or royal clan members,
witnessing the crest on their shields or tartans,
knew men of their own clan.]
If you choose to design a crest for your family,
I suggest you register your own design.
That way you're secure in knowing that
no other family surname is legally allowed to use the
same. This crest above has been legally registered. Please
do not copy.
