A/N: The challenge was to write a 100-word drabble exploring a "What if?" theme. This is my take on what might have happened if Dumbledore had sent Professor Snape to talk to Harry about the Mirror of Erised, instead of going himself, in PS/SS.

"So...you, like so many others before you, have discovered the delights of the Mirror of Erised. I should hope you've realized by now what it does?"
Harry thought he had. "It shows us what we want...whatever we want..."
"Crudely put." Snape grasped Harry's shoulder, turning him roughly to face the mirror. "It shows us nothing more nor less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts."
Lily Potter gazed out at them, smiling sadly.
"And I daresay," Snape added bitterly, "that in all Hogwarts, only you and I can look into the mirror--and see the same thing."
