| 6-21-03 - Well, a year and a half later, Laconic had a reunion. Gabe, Warren, and Matt played at Stephens Middle School last night. It was fun to play, though few people came. More shows may come up this summer. Who knows. 2-5-02 - After much thought and consideration, Matt has decided to leave Laconic to pursue other interests. He and Brendan are starting a new band, as are Gabe and Warren. And so, with that we say good bye. The site will remain. We'll still try to get a CD out. But there may never be another Laconic show again. Thanks to everyone who gave us their support. You guys rock. 1-31-02 - Due to Brendan's departure of Laconic, we are playing with John from Methyl Orange, and he will be with us till the Battle of the Bands at the Roseland. After that, he will again be involved with Methyl Orange and Warren and Gabe's new side project. 1-30-01 - In a rather sudden turn of events, Brendan is no longer a member of Laconic. His departure was in good will, and was based on creative differences; he wanted to go a different way with his carreer. We wish him all the best. He and Matt plan on starting another band with a much different sound soon. 1-21-01 - Brendan's kleenex was extracated yesterday, and he's going to be alright. 1-20-01 - For those of you who haven't heard yet, Brendan is in the hospital...he got a piece of kleenex stuck in his ear. We'll update his condition when we know more. 1-19-01 - Thanks to everyone that came to our show tonight. Jimi's was completely full when we played, and it was, in our opinion, our best show ever. The crowd was awesome. And of course Craig's antics were the highlight. We hope to see you all on February 16 at Jimi's, when we'll be playing with Namic. 1-17-02 - After all the nagging, we have gotten through to Dr. Olsen, and there will probably be a battle of the bands at South. But it wont just be the Battle of the Bands, it will be a talent show for the entire school. Rumors say it may be in April. So all you talented people out there, start practicing whatever it is you do. 1-16-02 - Today we recieved directions that we must attend a mandatory meeting in Portland for the Battle of the Bands. Up there we will sign up for a time and get the tickets that we must sell to participate. So help us out por favor, cuz we have to sell at least 30 tickets. 1-15-02 - Today we found out that Matt cannot do the Battle of the Bands at the Roseland, but we are looking to get Dain from Methyl Orange to sub for him. 1-12-02 The Show at Jimis for January 19th is on. We will be playing with Spiral at 8pm. 1-5-02 - We are now experienceing many difficulties with our recording. We are trying to find another way to mix the tracks, but we still hope to finish it soon. 1-1-02 - Happy New Year everyone!!! We played last night for the New Year's party at Matt's church. It went pretty well and was setup quite professionally. JD, the youth director, is very professional and fun to work with.. All the tracks have been recorded and now are in the process of being mixed by Gabe's dad. We hope to have the CD out by the next show on the 19th. 12-27-01 - At 4:00 this morning we finished the instrumental tracks for the demo. Tonight we'll record the vocals, then mix it and it will be ready for you all to purchase! 12-26-01 - We're pulling an all-nighter tonight at Matt's church, but tomorrow we should have a demo CD for all of you to buy! Finally. We hope that you all had a merry Christmas, and that we'll see you on New Years. Let Matt know if you're coming! 12-23-01 - Two new songs have been added to our setlist. Breathe and Will You Ever are the names of the new songs. 12-21-01 - Today we found out that there are no complications on the 16th, so things are looking good for the Roseland Theatre and the show at Jimi's. We will recieve more information in the following weeks. 12-19-01 - We have been discussing playing the two shows, and we will not be able to perform because there are conflicts during that time. But we are working on getting more shows. 12-18-01 - Today Brendan recieved a call and we were asked to participate in a talent show at the Roseland Theatre. And we also got a gig at Jimi's for the same date. We hope to be able to do both. 12-17-01 - We jut recieved the word that Jimi's Guitar Planet is up and running for live music, now we jsut need to get some dates. 12-16-01 - We now have a date, December 26th and 27th, to setup and begin to record our demo. We hope to have it all mixed by the end of break. 12-7-01 - Matt is the process of making the final arangements to make a demo CD over Christmas Break. Look for a relsease party in the near future! 12-2-01 - We finally have a gig coming up. This gig will be at Matt's church, same as last year for the New Years Party, but this time it will be much better because we much more experience under our belts. Check back for more info. 11-16-01 - Yesterday kicked ass. Matt, Gabe, and Warren went to the Incubus concert, and they were awesome. Playing 20 of their top songs, they amazed everyone. Warren and Gabe snuck in cameras, so maybe we will have some pics up in a while. Warren also snuck in a demo, but we couldn't get it on the stage. Erik and Tyson of Namic were able to meet Incubus and give them their phone numbers and demo, so maybe when they get signed and famous we'll play with them. 11-10-01 - We talked to Jimi, and he says that he trying to work around the Fire Marshal�s crack down. He is looking to get the shows going again in December 11-5-01 - Matt's working with some "connections" to get recorded and release a demo, and to get some shows lined up, which is becoming more difficult around here (can we say "re-open the Grand?"). Updates to come. 11-1-01 - Recieved a call from Namic, and the gigs at Jimi's have been cancelled due to the Fire Marshal. 10-31-01 - We won't be able to play this Saturday with Methyl Orange because there are too many conflicts, but chances of playing on the 17th are still looking good. 10-29-01 - Today we were told there may be a chance we will be playing with Methyl Orange at the Gov Cup this Saturday at 7:30pm, but check back for more news inthe following days. 10-25-01 - New songs added to our setlist, 9-Eleven and Pilgrimage and we have rearranged Hammer and This Lifetime. 10-24-01 - Today we played an acoustic session in front of Guitar Castle, and we hope to play more acoustic downtown, so keep checking back for more information. 10-19-01 - Latest news is that we will probably play at Jimi's Guitar Planet on November 17th, starting at 7pm. 10-18-01 - Hey, well, since we don't have the time or the money to go record professionally, we have taken a few of our songs that we recorded live awhile ago. So a few have been updated, or just flat out sound better, but hey, you can at least get a sample of us, so go check it out. And jsut so you're not too confused, on the page with our songs, we couldn't used our actual name, even though Laconic is no where to be found on their website. |
