Appearance

The fisher cat is a small "cat-like" creature but is actually not related to the common house cat. The fisher cat has a much more narrow, pointed nose with much shorter legs. Their fur is dark either a shade of black or brown but does get some grey hairs with old age. The male fisher cats have a grizzled appearance because of their tricolor hair along the neck and shoulders. Fisher cats can range anywhere from about 20 to 35 inches in length including tail. An adult, full-grown fisher cat can weigh anywhere from 3 to 12 pounds. The fisher cat has 38 teeth in total and each paw has 5 claws that aren't retractable like a house cat's. The fisher cat is said to be the fastest and most agile of the weasel family.
