TELOS
"My home world was one of the first planets to fall to Malak's fleet. The Sith bombed it into submission, and there wasn't a damn thing our Republic forces could do to stop him" - Carth Onasi, Knights of the Old Republic
Telos (Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords)

Telos (Telos-4) is a lush, beautiful world in the Outer Rim. The fourth planet in the Telos system of the Kwymar Sector, Telos was attacked twice by the Dark Lords of the Sith, but the world and its inhabitants have ensured the beauty of Telos continues to inspire.

Telos was once a bountiful world of idyllic plains, grassy mesas and vast seas, home to
Human natives known as Telosians. However, during the Jedi Civil War, Telos was attacked by Darth Malak and his Sith fleet. One of the first worlds to fall in that conflict, Telos was devastated by the assault, and was left as a barren, ruined wasteland. During the merciless bombardment, the family of Republic war hero Carth Onasi were killed, with only Carth's son, Dustil, escaping from the devastation. Fortunately for both Carth and his ravaged homeworld, following the death of Malak onboard the Star Forge, the Republic began to rebuild from the war. A planetary recovery program was initiated, with Telos being one of the first planets to benefit.

A herd of
Ithorians moved to Telos to begin restoration, in the hope that success on Telos would mean thousands more worlds would be able to benefit from similar restoration. The huge Citadel Station was built in orbit over Telos for the project; covering over a quarter of the planet's hemisphere, Citadel Station divides the surface of Telos into 'restoration zones' using a network of shields. The Ithorians monitor and manipulate the restoration from orbit, gradually applying new flora and fauna to the barren wasteland. Slowly, Telos was returning to its former glory.

Sadly, Telos had not seen the last of the Sith. After Malak's defeat, new Sith Lords rose to power, and hunted down and destroyed the
Jedi Knights. Tracking the Jedi Exile to Telos, Darth Nihilus unleashed his Sith fleet against Citadel Station. The Telos Security Force held back Sith invasion forces while the Exile and his companions boarded Nihilus' flagship for a showdown with the Dark Lord. Carth Onasi, Admiral of the Republic, lent his naval forces to the battle, and the Sith were eventually defeated after Nihilus' death. With the Sith gone and the scheming Czerka Corporation also no longer causing trouble for the Ithorians on Citadel Station, the restoration could continue.

In the era following the
Ruusan Reformation, Telos had been returned to its former natural beauty, known for its technological innovations and now something of a tourist attraction. However, around twelve years prior to the Battle of Naboo, the Dark Jedi Xanatos attempted to steal the planet's resources in his pursuit of power. Luckily, thanks to the efforts of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Xanatos was thwarted, and Telos was once more handed back to its rightful government. During the Galactic Civil War, Telos was embroiled in the Kwymar Suppressions, and the planet's Anglebay medical station was destroyed by a vengeful Valance.

--  Behind the Scenes  --
Telos was first introduced in the
Marvel Star Wars series, though here it was known as Telos-4. Planet Telos later appeared in the Jedi Apprentice series, and Wizards of the Coast later confirmed the two planets are actually one and the same. Telos is more thoroughly explored - and indeed visualized for the first time - in The Sith Lords.

A planet by the name of Telos also appears in
Doctor Who lore: here, it is one of the homeworlds of the deadly Cybermen.
