| 1. If you are pitting under the caution, you CANNOT pit after the "one lap to go" signal has been given and the field is coming around to take the green flag. After the lights on the pace car and the caution lights are off, you must wait till green to make another stop. This is because of a little glitch in the game...When you slow to to pit and the field is accelerating to take the green the game will give the black flag to any car that passes you until you hit pit road, even if the green flag is waived. We have had problems with this in the past and that is why the rule is in place. The penalty for an infraction of this rule will be FIVE laps or a 25 point deduction, whichever is greater. 2. When the caution comes out and the restart will be single file (under 10 laps to go.) The first time the pits are open, ONLY LEAD LAP CARS MAY PIT! When the field comes around the next time, ALL LAPPED CARS MUST PIT!! All lapped cars will drive onto pit road, and allow the field of lead lap cars to pass them on the track. At this point they can leave the pits and join the field at the end of the line. This will allow all the lead lap cars to be together at the front of the field for the restart and the run to the checkers. You may stop in your pit stall and make a stop if you wish, but you do not need to. All lapped cars that are not pitting must stay in a single file line in the right hand lane of pit road and cannot pass any other car at this time. The first car in line is responsible for making sure that all the lead lap cars are past before leaving the pits. Allow enough room between your car and the car in front of you in case the line needs to stop to let the field past, causing an accident by rear-ending another car will result in a penalty. The penalty for failing to make the run through the pits will be all two laps, or a 15 point deduction, whichever is greater. The penalty for passing another car on pit road, causing a pit road accident by rear-ending someone, or for bringing the lapped cars out of the pits before all the lead-lap cars are past will be 3 laps, or 20 points, whichever is greater. 3. If you are making a green flag pit stop, you must keep AT LEAST 2 wheels below the line in turns 1 and 2. Once you hit the backstretch and have gained some speed you may pick a safe place to merge with race traffic. There will be NO MERGING in the corners at all, even if there is no traffic coming. This will keep the pit in and out times fair for all drivers involved. This rule does not apply to caution flag pitstops, just do not cause a botleneck by pulling out in front of the field. The penalty for merging early will be one lap, or 10 points, whichever is greater. Or you can do a Stop and Go Penalty. The league admin will let everyone know who can and cannot pit for rule #2 during the caution to hopefully avoid any confusion. If you are unclear of any of these rules, please contact the league admin so he can clarify them and they don't cost you a good race result. |
