Radio Kurtodrome is back!
Well, sort of. A year ago, Sonicnet gave you the chance to build your own radio station. All you had to do was select genres or artists you liked and the computer made a random selection of 50 artists. For about a month I meticulously listened to hundrerd of bands on the playlists, making Radio Kurtodrome a station with a 90% chance of Good Music Only.
Sadly Sonicnet pulled the plug on their project when they embraced VH1. Gone were all the stations, including Radio Kurtodrome.
But today we'll mourn no longer (not that anyone still did, I guess) as we welcome something similar. Direct links to tracks available on the net, good for 30 minutes of music. Enjoy Radio Kurtodrome II! (Well, if the links work, that is.)

LOG - Yellow Lights Mean Slow Down, Not Speed Up
A last minute decision. I was planning to start the 'show' with Maestro Echoplex, but that MP3 didn't work properly. So instead it's a bunch of Swedes who'll open the first edition of Radio Kurtodrome. They took their name from the Log Lady in Twin Peaks, you know, the village where the lights were always red.

SPINVIS - Bagagedrager
He's Dutch, he's 41 and he's been making musical collages for years. He mainly earned his living by making documentary soundtracks for the Dutch Educational Channel. Enough reason to play him, no?

THE STREETS - Let's Push Things Forward
Lo and behold, 2002's biggest hype from the UK: 'UK Garage'. The Streets is a geezer who says "You say that everything sounds the same / Then you go buy them / There's no excuses my friend / Let's push things forward." Well, you do sound a bit like Madness, forward-pushing mate, ya know?

GUIDED BY VOICESEverything With Helicopter
Hey, I think we heard that one before, but I don't know where...

SOLEX1969
Solex celebrated her site re-launch by offering us this MP3 of a Stooges cover.

GONZALESYou Snooze You Lose
Canadian Jew living in Berlin. This musical prankster and 'entertainist' is crazy.

GIRLS AGAINST BOYSKicking
The GvsB have a new cd out and they're touring in Europe and they're GvsB. So let's shut up and listen.

WHITE STRIPES - Fell In Love With A Girl
Well, you know the video, but have you heard the song?

Also Available:

Edition 2: Death in Vegas, My Cheap Little Dictaphone, St. Etienne, The Be Good Tanyas, Mary Timony, Ikara Colt and Sleater-Kinney.
