 Yotsuba
to or "With Yotsuba"
is one of the cutest, sweetest, most innocent titles running currently
in the Japanese market. Written by Kiyohiko Azuma
and published by Dengeki Comics, it
runs in the monthly serial magazine called Daioh,
released on the 21st of each month. The graphic novels sell individually
for 600 yen.
The story
revolves around a little girl named Yotsuba
and the people she meets when she moves into a new neighbourhood. This
story is unique because it not only portrays the everyday lives of normal
people living in Japan, but it also brings to light many of the things
that students and teachers involved in the study of Japanese culture forget
to mention. These are the little charming things that make Japan
s unique!

On this page are the English translation of the comics and a few pictures.
I am hoping that an American company will pick up the story professionally,
but until then I would like to share the precious story in any way I can.
The books are available from Dengeki Comics
and other online bookstores written in Japanese. Let me emphasise that
these books are a very, very easy read for Japanese students of all ages,
so it would be worth your time to try.
