One of the most famous starship designs in the galaxy, all thanks to a single freighter owned by Han Solo, the YT-1300 looked shabby on the outside, but the power underneath was nothing to be sniffed at.

The YT-1300 light stock freighter had all the hallmarks of a standard Corellian transport; the rounded body, the off-center cockpit placement, and an endlessly modifiable design. Almost every YT-1300 that had been sold was later customised with a handful of extra components, from simple underfloor storage space to a new hyperdrive and added firepower. The features the YT-1300 was given on the production line were necissary but basic; two escape pods, located on the port and starboard side of the freighter; a laser cannon mounted atop the craft, and 100 tons of cargo space - or 200 tons if the freighter possessed extra cargo pods.

Despite its popularity in smuggling circles, it was very rare to find a new YT-1300 during the New Order, as most had been altered countless times. The ships became popular with smugglers for their appearance; border patrols wouldn't suspect a beat-up freighter such as the YT-1300 could be used for serious smuggling. However, with all the added extras fitted, the YT-1300 could fly rings around any patrol craft.
