The new wave of advanced Jedi starfighters sported a new colour scheme and additions
to improve upon the original Delta-7 interceptor.

Many of the Jedi starfighters flown in the Clone Wars were upgraded
with extra weaponry. Some of the interceptors came with a special
feature that allowed hidden missile launchers to spring out of
concealment on either side of the cockpit. These craft also featured
built-in hyperdrives, as extra space was created at the ship's aft.
Also, more space was added for the ship's astro-droid: previously,
the droids were usually wired into the ship.

Anakin Skywalker flew a custom Jedi starfighter on a number
of missions during the Clone Wars. Based on the design of
the podracer he used to win the Boonta Eve Classic on
Tatooine, Anakin's starfighter was larger than a standard
Aethersprite interceptor, but it was also more powerful. Extra blaster cannons were added on each wing-tip, and large engines were fixed to the bottom of the craft for added speed. His astromech droid was positioned in front of the cockpit. Though his design was sucessful, Anakin favoured the latest advancement of the Delta-7 starfighter towards the end of the Clone Wars. These grey-hulled ships featured more weapons and extra features that proved invaluable in the final battles of the Wars.
