| Though the Return of the Jedi novel stated Obi-Wan and Owen Lars were brothers, it was later proved false. However, the Jedi Apprentice series did mention the fact that Obi-Wan has a brother, though his identity remains a mystery |

| Though Obi-Wan was adamant he would honour Qui- Gon and train Anakin, he didn't realise just how difficult a task he had undertaken. While Obi-Wan was growing into a reserved, calm Jedi Knight, Anakin was full of adventure and mischief. When he wasn't causing havoc for his Master in the Temple, he was off on a dangerous escapade in Galactic City. One such adventure found Obi-Wan following Anakin in a perilous garbage pit race, flying a crude form of hang glider in an attempt to catch Anakin before he ended up in serious trouble. Following their narrow escape in the garbage pit, the Jedi Council gave Obi-Wan and Anakin their first mission together. After Qui-Gon's death, Obi- Wan had lost faith in the Force, and had taken to hiding behind a daily regimen to hold onto as much security and stability as he could. The mission to Zonama Sekot allowed Obi-Wan to create a bond with Anakin, as Qui-Gon had with him, and to repair his own bond with the Force. In the years that followed, Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship grew. They both loved each other as though they were family, though Anakin still felt cramped by his Master's teachings. Obi-Wan wanted to make sure nothing went wrong in the training, but Anakin found he was progressing too fast for his Master's slow pace. However, they were an effective team. When Master and apprentice were sent to settle a dispute on Ansion, Obi-Wan honed his diplomatic skills and helped to halt the secession Ansion was threatening. Yet Obi-Wan, still in tune with the unifying Force, realised they had solved only a small part of the bigger galactic dilemma. The mystery was unfolding. |
