| General Obi-Wan Kenobi served the Republic through- out the Clone Wars, and became one of its most distin- guished warriors. He and Lieutenant Skywalker embarked on many dangerous missions and overcame seemingly impossible challanges. After the Battle of Geonosis, Obi-Wan, like many other Jedi Knights and Masters, was given a position in the Army of the Republic. He led clonetroopers into action during many battles on many worlds including Rhen Var, Thule and Kamino. Anakin was still Obi-Wan's charge even in war, and thus Kenobi was responsible for him as well. However, there were times when Anakin had to save his master - such as on Jabiim, where General Kenobi and his clonetrooper squad went missing, presumed dead. Anakin took charge of the mission, and eventually was reunited with his master. The war gave Obi-Wan a new enemy, in the form of Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress. Kenobi and Ventress locked sabers on numerous occasions through the course of the Clone Wars, though Ventress was finally killed in battle. The war took a toll on Obi-Wan. He grew much older in the three years of battle, and grew weary of the fight. However, he remained steadfast in his duty to the Jedi Order and the Republic, and continued to battle Count Dooku's armies. At some point in the war, Obi-Wan served Bail Organa, Viceroy of Alderaan, and became friends with the Senator. Obi-Wan hoped that the war would end quickly, so that none of his friends would need to be protected from danger any longer. |
