As a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, Special Olympics Kansas Southeast relies on individual support, civic groups, organizations, fundraisers, and special events to meet their financial needs. Special Olympics Kansas Southeast is not funded by the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation or by the U.S. Government. It raises its funds through a variety of community based activities.
Your support has a direct, positive effect on individuals with mental retardation who compete as part of Special Olympics. A 1995 Yale University study confirmed: Special Olympics measurably enhances the lives of those who participate by improving the self-image or participating athletes and their ability to function in a social setting.
Contributing to Special Olympics Kansas Southeast is the ultimate gift that gives back to you. For every dollar and for every hour that you donate to Special Olympics, the rewards and gratitiude of helping our athletes reach new goals will far outweigh your contribution. Once you become a part of Special Olympics, you will be a member for life.
As Special Olympics Kansas Southeast does not charge its athletes to train and compete in its activities, it becomes a challenge to provide every person with developmental disabilities a chance to benefit from Special Olympics. There are a number of ways you can make this happen:
Cash donations help inspire greatness in a Special Olympic athlete's life by providing needed supplies, such as medals, ribbons, lunches, equipment and t-shirts.
