X-MEN
T H E   L A S T   S T A N D

2006 **1/2 104 mins.

It's sad, that after two fantastic films, the "final" chapter in the X-Men series suffers from lack of depth and characterization, focusing solely on the over-the-top action sequences and special effects. The old characters seem two-dimensional, and the new characters aren't given any sort of time dedicated to their backgrounds. This is, purely, a sci-fi/action flick that does nothing more than make the viewer long for something better. Of course, it is still entertaining, though, once one sets aside all the problems. I just wonder why, if this is supposed to be "The Last Stand", why is the scene after the credits there?
Rated PG-13 for Intense Sequences of Action Violence, Some Sexual Content, and Language.
